Printing Policy:  Print making is a subjective art. I will make a print that looks good to me, matches the instructions as closely as possible, and is technically correct.  While ILFOCHROME is the best print material available, some colors may not reproduce exactly as in the transparency.  If any print needs to be redone due to changes in the instructions or the subjective interpretations of the client, there will be an additional charge.

Liability: All photographic materials are handled with the extreme care that I use to handle my own materials. In the unlikely event of loss or damage, Michael Wilder assumes no liability except for the value of the unexposed material.

Special Note: Ilfochrome print material is no longer being made! A special "final production" of the material was completed in the fall of 2012. I have enough of this material for several years of printing. The materials price was increased 30% for this "final production". The price was also recently increased for the processing chemicals by 100-300%. My printing price list for January 2012 includes an average 10% increase over the January 2006 to partially cover these increases.

For the past 20 years, there have been many rumors about the imminent demise of Cibachrome. So the announcement from Ilford had been anticipated. But for all of those years, the represenatives from Ilford had promised that the material would always be made... I am grateful that Ilford did give us a chance to continue making use of this wonderful print material.

The following is from Ilford, November 2011:

Dear Customer,

ILFOCHROME Classic has been a flagship brand within the ILFORD range of products for well over forty years. The importance of this range is underlined by the fact that ILFORD has continued to manufacture this product even though overall demand has decreased significantly over the last few years. This reduction in volume has led to higher production costs that have been further exacerbated by the dramatic increase in the cost of silver.

Unfortunately, the combination of low demand and higher raw material and production costs has left us no alternative but to discontinue the ILFOCHROME CLASSIC materials and related P3/P3X chemistry.

As indicated, ILFORD has fully absorbed the high raw material and production and unfortunately we are unable to do this for the final production. Therefore, we will need to increase our supply price to you by 30% for this final production.
